I looked at the car clock and 30 minutes had dragged past. "Are we there yet," I whined. Finally, we walked toward the huge red tent. My shoes crunched peanut shells on the soft earth. Once inside, I spotted something strange out of the corner of my eye through an opening. I lifted the curtain and peeked in. My eyes widened to see an elephant painted with purple swirls. "Hello girl," I whispered. She looked right at me. I felt so happy. A few minutes later, the violin started playing letting the crowd know the show was about to begin.
The violin music filled the background and happy Stella sat at her small table in her playroom. She looked up at her mom and asked, “Can I play playdough, please?”
Mom nodded her head and handed her the bag.
“Look, mom! Purple is my favorite color.”
Mom smiled. “What are you going to make?” she asked.
“An elephant!” shouted Stella excitedly.
“But elephants are gray,” mom teased.
Stella formed the playdough into an elephant with big ears and a long trunk. “My elephant is painted purple!” she beamed with pride.
“I love your creativity sweetie,” mom replied rubbing her back.
